The following letter was sent home to parents on Wednesday, 29 April 2009, containing information about the swine infuluenza. Both versions were provided by the NM PED to school districts.

On Thursday, 30 April 2009, the NM PED put out the following information:

  • Stay informed. The District will update this website regulary as information becomes available.
  • Districts will follow New Mexico Department of Health Guidelines.
  • Swine Flu cases are confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control.
  • School districts will follow normal operating procedures.
  • Teach your child to wash their hands often with soap and water, especially after they cough or sneeze.
  • Keep your child at home if they are sick.
  • School personnel will continually wipe down surfaces within the building. The EPS District has brought on an additional custodian at he elementary to assist the custodians with keeping the surfaces clean.
  • Masks are not recommend for the well public at this time.
  • Extracurricular activities are scheduled to go on as planned.
